Another review for Behind Locked Doors!

Seriously Reviewed gave 17.5/20 to Behind Locked Doors - Book Two last month, and the reviewer mentioned that it would have been better if she'd read the first book in the series.
I couldn't help then but send her a .pdf version of the book. I wanted her to understand how the series had started and what had happened, etc. etc..

Lo and behold, I got an email weeks later with a link and a review! I hadn't expected one, but it was very nice of her. So here it is:

Story: 9
Presentation: 9
Total: 18

Review: Thank You, Emma! Behind Locked Doors is one of those stories that draws you in and holds you hostage. Hmmm, sort of like the main character, Thursday. Damn, this story was just so deviously fun. 4 Masters, all of which had disturbing yet appealing qualities, twisted into a weirdly unique D/s relationship with Thursday. As a reader if you like BDSM – great, this story has it. Tenderness with control – yep, you get that too. Oh Scary, (who you will fall in love with in Behind Locked Doors 2 – read the review here) is just wickedly perfect. Everything in this story was perfectly balanced. Thursday isn’t happy to find herself obligated to a 6 month stay in a harem. She’s signed a contract but maybe she can be just troublesome enough that she’ll be more work than she’s worth. Her stubbornness only serves to spike the interest of the 4 and she becomes a challenge to break. Who can make her come? Blondy, Scary, Freaky, or Shorty? Read the book and find out. You won’t be disappointed.

... I love how she describes Scary as wickedly perfect!

7 months and counting...

Who'd have thought that an idea that popped into my head during a conversation with a friend would turn into this?

'Location, Location, Location' has now been in the Top 10 Romantic Comedy Bestseller List on All Romance eBooks for 7 months. 32 weeks. No, I'm not going to count the number of days too, but still, that's a loooong time!

And now it makes me want to write another book with Kevin and Mia. I miss those two, I've got to admit.

One more done!

I'm feeling very accomplished right now.

I've finished my latest WIP, entitled 'Marked'. It's the first book in a series called 'The Recruits', and it's something new for me. It's erotic romance and... paranormal! Who'd have thought I'd ever write a paranormal series?
It's a change, and I must admit world-building isn't easy. It takes a lot of concentration to remember all your subplots, characters, etc., but it's a nice feeling. Of course, maybe I should have written everything down, but nah, I rely on my brain instead. So far so good!

I love the hero. Jake is pure Alpha but once you crack him open, all he really wants is for someone to love him for who he is, weaknesses and all. Gotta love that really.
Faye is like my usual heroines. She questions everything, she's unsure and yet she has an inner strength that will blossom thanks to his love.
There is a ton of secondary characters... well, maybe not a ton, but definitely a lot more than usual!

I'm already working on the next two books in the series: 'Mated', Sofia's story (who's Sofia I can see you asking? You'll have to wait to get that answer, I'm afraid); and 'Hired', that will introduce two new characters. I can't wait!

Anyhow, all this to say that I've polished it all today, wrote a 6-page synopsis and a blurb, and... even submitted it. Crazy day! Now all I can do is wait and think happy thoughts. All together now: they will want to read more. Yes, they will.
Right?

The first review for BLD2 is here!

Thanks a lot to Seriously Reviewed for the great review of Behind Locked Doors - Book Two.

Story: 8.5
Presentation: 9
Total: 17.5
Review: As a fan of Ms Hillman, I knew I’d get an emotion story to go along with scorching hot sex and well developed characters. This story is no exception. As a reader, I think the book would be better enjoyed had I read the first in the series. I wasn’t immediately captivated by the characters and the setting took a little time to become grounded. However, within a few pages I was swept into the story and had no trouble understanding who the characters were and their connection to Thursday. In the heart of the story, I couldn’t read through the pages fast enough. I simply had to know what was going to happen next. I found myself falling for Scary as easily as Thursday does. Ms. Hillman pens a poignant story and in the end I felt exactly as Thursday. The author gives emotional depth to the story that is so real, it’s not always a pleasant experience. But that was the intended response and one that will stay with me long after the book was finished.

... I have to admit that reading I had a fan made me blush. I love Thursday as a heroine, and I'm glad people are getting attached to her. It's interesting that even with the way Scary acts in the story, the reviewer fell for him. Of course, that's what I intended but still, it's nice to see!
