Turn It Up, Book 4 of the Grassroots series, and my first m/m, is out today!<br />
<br />
<i>When Andy, the Pride Enforcer, sends out a call for new Lieutenants, he doesn't expect so many young lions to respond. Especially not Damian and Chad who've spent their whole lives competing against one other. They both yearn to be the best at everything, and while they have different reasons for wanting to be a Lieutenant, they will stop at nothing to get this dream status.<br />
<br />
Damian and Chad are shocked when the Enforcer puts them on the same team. They have to live together, train together, and the more time they spend together the less they can ignore what they've both been fighting for over the past few months: their lions are attracted to each other. They keep pushing them together, sexual tension running higher than ever.<br />
<br />
What do you do when you feel yourself falling in love for your mortal enemy? Do you run? Do you lie down and accept the inevitable? Or do you fight it as best you can? If you're Damian and Chad...you do all three.</i><br />

Turn It Up will be followed by Heat It Up (f/f) and Mix It Up (m/f/m). This trilogy will more or less take place during the same period of time and will be linked, plot-wise. It's a bit tricky to write but I hope you'll like it! <br/><br/><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-vcsM5qCXJu8/URvmZnwNevI/AAAAAAAAARk/jAoj_jE-zUw/s640/blogger-image-343840686.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-vcsM5qCXJu8/URvmZnwNevI/AAAAAAAAARk/jAoj_jE-zUw/s640/blogger-image-343840686.jpg" /></a></div>Emma Hillmanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00338107825632104021noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2701979101976149725.post-47185429417258030582012-05-04T17:03:00.000+02:002012-05-07T15:59:47.611+02:00Release: A Question of Trust (BDSM/Rubenesque)<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">He’d been staring moodily into the distance for the past few hours, his fingers squeezed tight around his glass as if he was afraid to let go. He wore a black suit that accentuated his wide shoulders and lean hips. He had short dark hair and clear eyes, green or gray, she couldn’t say for sure. He was seriously handsome, even with that <span class="SpellE">perma</span>-frown on his face.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 3pt; text-indent: 0.3in;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">He was the man she’d been looking for, the one she was supposed to steal from. Of course, he needed to notice her first.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 3pt; text-indent: 0.3in;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">She kept on watching as he sighed and brought the tumbler to his lips, taking one long gulp before slamming it back down onto the marble-covered tabletop. She winced at the sound and too late realized he’d seen her grimace. He shook his head, the gesture resembling an apology, and yet, he went straight back to staring at nothing.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 3pt; text-indent: 0.3in;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It was her turn to sigh. She knew she wasn’t really the type of woman men hit on at bars, but surely tonight should be different.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 3pt; text-indent: 0.3in;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">She had instructions, after all. How on earth could they have considered her perfect for this job? She didn’t even look the part, she thought as she stared at her surroundings. But they’d been adamant he’d take the bait and lead her to that box. What was inside was worth a lot more than what she supposedly owed them. One night, and she’d be free of them.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 3pt; text-indent: 0.3in;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Maybe she should have thought this through a little more and come up with a plan that consisted of more than just her acting as if she was entirely focused on her book. Because right now her plan sounded as bad as she was feeling.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 3pt; text-indent: 0.3in;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span lang="EN-GB">She put her e-reader down and felt her neck twitch. That’d teach her to sit here unmoving for hours. She brought her hands up and kneaded the back of her neck, running her fingers up into her hair. She took the ponytail holder off and shook her hair down her back. Now that felt better already.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 3pt; text-indent: 0.3in;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span lang="EN-GB">Looking up with a contented smile, she froze when she noticed his eyes on her. Their gazes locked. She watched, her eyes widening, as he stood up and stopped by her table. His voice just above a whisper, he said, “I’m in Room 1001,” and strode off.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 3pt; text-indent: 0.3in;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span lang="EN-GB">She blinked and turned around, watching his back as he left the bar. <i>Wow</i>. She sure hadn’t been expecting that one. That had been almost too easy. Hoping her karma wouldn’t change, she grabbed her purse, dropped her Kindle in it and quickly stood up.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 3pt; text-indent: 0.3in;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><i><span lang="EN-GB">I did it!<o:p></o:p></span></i></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span lang="EN-GB">The buoyant feeling lasted until she stood in front of the hotel room he’d indicated. It was located on the penthouse level and just one look around her reminded her know how badly she fit her surroundings.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 3pt; text-indent: 0.3in;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span lang="EN-GB">They’d given her money to spend the night in the hotel, but she had the cheapest room available. Still, she hadn’t been in a hotel in so long it was quite a novelty. If she closed her eyes and forgot about everything else, she could almost believe she was on vacation somewhere fun. If only…<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 3pt; text-indent: 0.3in;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span lang="EN-GB">I should just go, she thought as she hooked her bag higher on her shoulder. Her gaze drilling a hole into the door only inches from her face, she remained immobile as she pondered her options. Not that she had any, really. She had no choice but to play nice with Dylan…Stevens.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 3pt; text-indent: 0.3in;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span lang="EN-GB">Yes, that was his name. She remembered it from the fact sheet they’d handed her that afternoon. He’d just turned forty, was a lawyer of some kind in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:state w:st="on">California</st1:state></st1:place> and was only in town for the weekend. That meant she had to succeed from the get go. Lucky her.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 3pt; text-indent: 0.3in;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span lang="EN-GB">She sighed. He might be a handsome man, but it still didn’t mean she wanted to do this. She wasn’t a whore, damn it! How was she going to act if he tied her up?<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 3pt; text-indent: 0.3in;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span lang="EN-GB">The file had also mentioned he was a bondage master, and she’d had to Google it just to make sure she wasn’t going crazy. The man was into BDSM. She’d even watched videos and, oh my God, she really shouldn’t have.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 3pt; text-indent: 0.3in;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span lang="EN-GB">She didn’t like pain. Really, she didn’t. She’d never really been adventurous in bed, even with her ex-husband. Maybe this was payback. Maybe she should have tried all this naughty stuff before. Maybe tonight would have been easier then.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 3pt; text-indent: 0.3in;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><i><span lang="EN-GB">No!</span></i><span lang="EN-GB"> She had to do this. She had to. She would say yes to everything he proposed and hope he went to sleep soon after. At least he was handsome. That was something, right? And the file said he was rich, both from his chosen profession and from inheriting his family’s estate.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 3pt; text-indent: 0.3in;">

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span lang="EN-GB">She watched her right hand rise and knock on the heavy wooden door, staring as it opened almost immediately and revealed the man from downstairs.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span lang="EN-GB">He’d obviously used the time he’d had to make himself comfortable. He was still wearing suit pants, but the jacket was gone, the shoes too.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

</span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><a href="http://www.jasminejade.com/p-9944-come-play.aspx">Come Play</a> is to be released on 16 March as part of the new Ellora's Cave line of erotica for men, EC for Men. This will be my first piece written specifically for guys, so I'm quite eager to see what people think. </span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;">Writing it has been a lot of fun though. It's definitely different writing from a guy's POV but also quite liberating. </span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
</span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;">As you can see from the blurb, it's seriously hot too!</span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><i><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">When Gregory finds his girlfriend Aly waiting for him one evening, naked and with her hand between her thighs, he can’t believe his luck. When it happens again one week later and he finds her in the study, bent over his desk wearing a tiny plaid skirt, he figures he’s got the best girlfriend in the world.</span></i></span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; margin: 3pt 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><i><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">But even he is shocked at Aly’s next surprise. Oh she’s naked and eager as always, but she’s also not alone. She’s kissing and caressing a woman he’s never seen before, a young blonde who looks so hot he can’t take his eyes off her. When they tell him they’ve been waiting for him, he’s more than ready to play…one more time.</span></i></span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Now I just need to find how/where to promote it. Any suggestions welcome!</span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

So listen...and turn it up!</span></div>Emma Hillmanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00338107825632104021noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2701979101976149725.post-45413254237577831672012-02-10T08:29:00.000+01:002012-02-10T08:29:00.681+01:00Dark circles and all...<div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">I always knew this year would be busy. After all, you can't juggle a full-time job, family life and writing for several publishers without losing a bit of sleep. And yet, I'm certain this will be all worth it.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">It looks like I'll have one book out every month this year. How crazy is that?</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"> Right now I'm writing <i>Live It Up</i> (Grassroots #3) and editing <i>Come Play</i> (my first Ellora's Cave for Men short story) and <i>A Question of Trust</i> (a BDSM short novel, also for EC). </span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"></span><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">My goal is to one day write full-time. And the more I write, the closer I get to that goal. So what if I have dark circles under my eyes? </span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">I'm just starting a new trend! ;)</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"> </span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"> </span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"></span></div>Emma Hillmanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00338107825632104021noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2701979101976149725.post-61739709146321782312012-02-09T11:29:00.001+01:002012-02-16T11:15:38.643+01:00Be Careful What You Wish For is out now!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0cQ3F047T40/TrPfi2OBkMI/AAAAAAAAAO8/_YrjqVyO6r4/s1600/CoverBeCareful.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0cQ3F047T40/TrPfi2OBkMI/AAAAAAAAAO8/_YrjqVyO6r4/s320/CoverBeCareful.JPG" width="213" /></a></span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br />

<br />
But as Connor jumps on the opportunity and turns into someone she’s no longer sure she knows, Felicity wonders if maybe she shouldn’t have been more careful in what she wished for…</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"></span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 0in;"><span style="font-size: small;"><u>Excerpt</u> </span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 0in;"></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 0in;"><span style="font-size: small;">“You’ve been naughty. Very, very naughty.”<br />
<br />
Felicity bit her bottom lip at her husband’s husky whisper. The bristles on his unshaved jaw brushed the skin of her shoulder as he drew back, leaving her feeling restless and cold. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
He’d already told her to get naked, and she’d instantly obeyed, undressing with record time. It’d felt weird to do this so openly, trusting he would like what he saw. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
She shook her head. No, he always did. He got hard just at the sight of her bare body and always had. But now that his body had left hers, she suddenly wondered what she was doing here. This was going to be so unlike what they usually did, she wasn’t sure what had gone through her to ask him that. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
“Connor?” she called out, needing to hear him. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
“You asked for this, baby. Now grab the headboard, and do not move until I tell you to.” </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
She reached for the wooden rail and clasped it between tense fingers. Seconds later, hands were on her hips. He tilted her body until she was leaning down, her head pressed against the backs of her hands, her thighs open wide, her ass high in the air. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
It was an altogether submissive position, and yet, she had no one but herself to blame. He was right. She’d asked for this. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
When his open palm met her ass for the first time, she gasped. Then waited. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
He seemed to take her non-reaction as a go-ahead and did it again, to her left butt cheek this time. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
He fell into an unhurried rhythm, alternating slaps and slow caresses. Her ass was on fire, but it wasn’t hurting per se. It was the weirdest sensation really. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
And then he started talking. “You’re a good little slut, aren’t you?” </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
She felt her mouth open, ready to blast him for the way he’d just addressed her, and yet, nothing came out. Because she was wet, damn it. She’d always considered herself a feminist, but here she was, letting the man of her life call her names and getting off on it. What was wrong with her? </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
He thrust a finger deep inside her pussy and groaned. “Fuck, you’re soaking wet. You really like me acting like this, don’t you, baby?” </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
“Ye-es,” she said, pumping her hips back, trying to make him move his finger. Instead, he slid it back out. She groaned, “Connor!” </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
She wasn’t sure if he heard her or if he’d already decided what he was going to do because he began tracing her rose a second later. He painted it wet with the juices he’d collected, going back to dip his fingertip inside his pussy for more until she was nearly panting. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
When he slid one finger, then two, inside her ass, Felicity held the headboard in both hands and didn’t let go. It hurt. Damn it all to hell, it hurt. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
But she hung on and let him play with her, nearly sighing in relief when she felt something press against her clit. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
Then whiskers brushed the sensitive skin of her inner thighs, and she jerked when she realized it was his tongue currently taking a very long, slow, detour of her pussy. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
“God,” she muttered, closing her eyes at the rush of sensations threatening to overwhelm her. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
She focused on that touch, ignoring the fingers scissoring her rose wider. His tongue flicked her clit, exactly the way she liked it. He knew her body by heart now, she thought, knew what to do to make her moan in pleasure. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
Except tonight was different, and she should really have realized this sooner. Because what happened next took her completely by surprise. His teeth closed around her left pussy lip and bit. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
She swore she nearly jumped out of her skin. Her nails digging into the headboard, she found herself leaning forward, trying to get away from him. His hands clasped her hips and held her still. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
“Don’t you dare move,” he growled just before doing the same to her other inner lip. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
Felicity looked at the wall in front of her and blinked. This was freaky as hell! Her pussy now pulsed as if it had a life of its own. Her butt cheeks still faintly ached from his earlier spanking. Her ass, now devoid of thick fingers, felt empty. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
She didn’t know whether she was coming or going but…she was still wet. “Fuck me,” she murmured. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
Of course, her luck being what it was, Connor heard her. “Not yet, little slut. I’m far from finished with you.” </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
Where the hell did my husband go? she asked herself. What had she unleashed when she’d told him she wanted rough sex for their anniversary? God, I should have just asked for jewelry like any good little wife. Stupid! </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
“Connor?” she called out, her voice shaky. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
He didn’t respond, but she could feel his breath against her butt, moments before he bit the bottom curve of her right cheek. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
“Damn it, Con!” </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
He smacked the palm of his hand against her left butt cheek. </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
No complaining. Right. Got it. Right. Fuck, that stings! </span><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
<br />
“I love your ass,” he called out, his voice almost gleeful. “I’m going to fuck the hell out of it now.” </span><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 0in;"></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 0in;"></div>Emma Hillmanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00338107825632104021noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2701979101976149725.post-70893590974475332912012-02-06T10:19:00.000+01:002012-02-06T10:19:08.972+01:00And the good news keep on coming...<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_e1j0cW-oLs/Ty-aYQI8MsI/AAAAAAAAAQI/5UH4tbC6Ys4/s1600/GunShyN1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="233" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_e1j0cW-oLs/Ty-aYQI8MsI/AAAAAAAAAQI/5UH4tbC6Ys4/s400/GunShyN1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />

<div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Tired of coming back from missions to find their utilities cut off and their house strung with cobwebs, Scott and Drew, fellow SEALs and surveillance experts, decide to rent their spare room to someone who’ll help them take care of things. They need someone they’ll never fall for, however, someone homely and definitely not sexy.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Kristyn seems to be the answer to all their problems. She wears drab clothes, is a junior high teacher and loves gardening. But she’s a lot more than that. As the weeks pass, and she slowly reveals the woman hiding behind the façade she’s carefully built over the years, the two men realize they were very, very wrong. </span></div><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">She’s going to rock their worlds…in more ways than one.</span>Emma Hillmanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00338107825632104021noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2701979101976149725.post-8174516801987137822011-12-25T08:00:00.000+01:002011-12-25T08:00:08.244+01:00Merry Christmas!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://static.panoramio.com/photos/original/30533699.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="http://static.panoramio.com/photos/original/30533699.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">When you read this, I'll already be on holidays. We're spending the week at our family house in Burgundy. It's located in a very small hamlet...so small the road stops there! </span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/photos/medium/30533686.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/photos/medium/30533686.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">So that means no Internet, no cell phone...but also a fireplace and lots of books to read. We even have heating in our bedrooms now! (Crazy, I know ;)</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and I'll talk to y'all in the New Year. I'm off to eat lots of turkey!!</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />

</div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><u>Blurb</u><br />
<br />
Nate, or Dr Franks as everyone knows him, used to be the Pride’s most easy-going lion. All it took was for him to take over the town’s practice and the arrival of the new nurse, Kellie, for his good humor to leave out the window. He might even start believing the rumor that she’s been transferred from another Pride because they couldn’t deal with her anymore.<br />
<br />
Kellie might not like Dr Franks much, well apart from the way he looks, but she knows one thing: he might be her last solution if she wants to learn how to control her lioness. The duality between her animal’s needs and her own is driving her crazy.<br />
<br />
When Nate learns what happened in her old Pride and why, he sees red and decides to help her. Her lioness is so strong he has to take drastic measures, and they end up mated. Between his father’s anger and someone intent on destroying their new-found relationship, it will be up to Nate to keep them alive…but at what cost?</div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"> </div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><u>Excerpt</u></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">Nathan, or Dr. Franks as everyone knew him, loved women. He loved everything about them, from their soft skin, to the way they smelled, to how their nails dug into his back when he made love to them.<br />
<br />
He’d always been a ladies’ man, enjoying the fact he was never on his own for long. Oh, he wasn’t planning on getting hitched any time soon, but now that he’d come back to the Pride, he knew he would have to curb his tendencies.<br />
<br />
As one of the Alpha’s sons, he had a reputation to uphold. As the only doctor left in the Pride, he had a clientele to build. It was a good thing he wasn’t as dominant as his two brothers, Jay and Andy. Whenever he treated someone, all it took was a smile and people knew they could trust him. He depended on that. Too bad, his new nurse hadn’t gotten the memo.<br />
<br />
“Kellie, what did I tell you yesterday?” He sighed, rubbing his forehead tiredly.<br />
<br />
“I know my job, Dr. McDreamy,” she muttered under her breath as she walked past him, grabbing the chart she’d left unattended on the counter.<br />
<br />
“Make sure you do,” he called out after her, watching her corkscrew curls bounce all over her head. She was so freaking aggravating. What did I do to deserve this? he asked himself for the hundredth time.<br />
<br />
He’d only taken over the town’s practice the previous Monday, but already, she was getting under his skin. It wasn’t that he didn’t like her. No, well, maybe. She had the potential to be a good nurse, but she had the worst temperament he’d ever seen. Everything he said, mostly constructive criticism or so he’d thought anyway, she slapped back in his face.<br />
<br />
He saw the way she looked at him, her dark brows forming a line as if she couldn’t stand the sight of him. She didn’t even know him! How could she hate him already? He knew she’d been transferred from another Pride, the rumor going round being that they couldn’t deal with her anymore. Which made total sense to him.<br />
<br />
He wasn’t sure how long he’d be able to cope with her acting like this. He loved women, but Kellie might be the exception to this rule. It wasn’t that she looked bad either. She wasn’t his type, a bit too curvy and well, moody, for him, but… Shit! Why am I still thinking about her when I should be working?<br />
<br />
Shaking his head, he bent down to check who was next on the list when the front doors burst open and an agitated woman walked in. “Help me!”<br />
<br />
He was beside her in a second. “What’s wrong?”<br />
<br />
“My sister! I found her unconscious in the shower. She’s in my car. I should have called 9-1-1, but I live close so I—”<br />
<br />
He wasn’t listening any longer.<br />
<br />
“Kellie!” he shouted before sprinting outside. His gaze zeroed in on the car parked haphazardly in the middle of the street. He hurried to the passenger door and opened it. He knelt on the concrete, his eyes already examining the patient. “Miss? Can you hear me?”<br />
<br />
He took her pulse, relieved to find it steady if a little fast. He let his lion to the forefront of his mind, asking him to smell the woman so he could assess her. He leaned over her but couldn’t detect anything. She was breathing on her own. Her skin felt cold, but he was confident she would warm up once she was inside.<br />
<br />
His lion switched his tail and retreated, no longer interested in the unmated female. Taking this sign as his green light, Nate brought one arm around the woman’s shoulders, the other slipping beneath her thighs. She didn’t weigh much, he thought as he stood back up. His nurse was at the doors, keeping them open for him.<br />
<br />
He nodded at her, ordered her to follow him as he strode past, his attention entirely on what the issue might be. His brain scanning dozens of potential scenarios, he only noticed what the woman wore when he laid her on an examination table. And that was because his nurse took one look at their patient and groaned.<br />
<br />
What the hell? He turned toward her and frowned. “Kellie?”<br />
<br />
She didn’t even hear him, too focused on the woman’s…breasts? He followed her gaze and realized the patient had been covered by a towel and nothing else. She was now quite naked, and she had the most perfect tits he’d seen in a long while.<br />
<br />
“Wow,” he mouthed then remembered he’d left her upset sister in the waiting room. “Let’s be professional, shall we, Kellie?”<br />
<br />
She froze for a second. “Hmm. Yes. Sure. Yes.”<br />
<br />
It didn’t take him long to notice the bump on the back of the woman’s head. She’d probably slipped in the shower and was now regaining consciousness.<br />
<br />
She blinked and moaned a little, trying to sit up before she fully registered where she was. When her eyes opened, she stiffened. “Who are you?”<br />
<br />
“Dr. Franks. You hit your head and might have a concussion. I’d advise you to stop moving until I’ve finished with my examination.” He smiled down at her, but she remained stiff. “Kellie?” he finally said, hoping his nurse would be able to reassure her. And she did, much more happily than he’d ever seen her talk to a patient before.<br />
<br />
He stood there, adding pertinent details to the woman’s chart, and he couldn’t help but be aware of his nurse’s lioness. The one who was so aroused it was starting to send out pheromones.<br />
<br />
Seriously? She had to do this here? Now? He was going to have to talk to her. Again.</div><br />

</div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;">The series is loosely divided into two with the first three books (Rough It Up, Suck It Up and Live It Up) featuring the Pride Alpha's three sons, respectively Jay, Nate and Andy. </span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;">The next trilogy will be around the recruitment process put into place by Andy to replace him as the Pride Enforcer. Yes, I do like to challenge myself!</span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
</span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;">You will still see the other members of the Pride however so every book will be interconnected in a way. </span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;">Here's a bit more information on all the books, including the ones that are already published (or soon to be!). <div style="text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Wake Up Everybody</span></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">John Legend, Melanie Fiona, The Roots & Common</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Usually when I write I need a fast and urgent soundtrack, something like Pitbull or David Guetta. I'm not entirely sure why, but maybe that's why I write so many fast-paced books? Case in point: I wrote <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Man-Frame-ebook/dp/B003HS55YI/ref=ntt_at_ep_dpt_2">Man Frame</a> while listening to the Black Eyed Peas' <i>The E.N.D.</i>. </span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">But this John Legend song is completely the opposite. It's soulful and chill and just the perfect morning song. So wake up, people! </span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

<u><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Excerpt</span></span></u><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><br />
</span><br />
<div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">“What did you do?”</span></span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"> Drake stared at his First Man, the urge to fight hardening his muscles as he stood there, unmoving. “I didn’t do anything.”</span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"> “Are you sure?”</span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"> “Yes.” A pause then, “No.”</span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"> Jake’s eyebrows snapped together at his Guardian’s unusually hesitant response. “What the hell does that mean?”</span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"> “I told you about that time in the library, right? When I tried using my powers on her and it didn’t work?” His First Man nodded. “I think something else happened then. I’m not sure what, but there seems to be some kind of…of link between us now.”</span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"> “Link? Like what?”</span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"> “Like…” He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. When he reopened them, lust filled them. “I want her like I’ve never wanted anyone before in my life. She is so unlike my usual lovers, and yet my body doesn’t care. It’s as if it wants her, whoever she is. Whatever she looks like. It doesn’t care!” he repeated, his voice rising until his tirade ended on a near shout.</span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"> Jake stared at him for a second more before asking, “What are you saying? So, what else could have happened?”</span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"> “You’re our most powerful wielder, Drake! Especially considering the way she looked right now: her wet hair trailing down her back in dark brown strands, her plump breasts jiggling every time she moved, her bare curves calling out to him. He felt his cock stir and moved to get off the bed, but she put her palm up in the air.</div><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"> </span><div class="RPText" style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; line-height: normal; margin: 12pt 0in; text-align: justify; text-indent: 0in;">“Oh, no. She moaned, and he knew he had her right where he wanted her. Thoughts of the coming weekend made his cock jerk, and he hurriedly laid her down on the bed, spreading her legs wide so he could move between them. His gaze zeroed in on her glistening pussy, and he forgot about everything else but making his girlfriend scream in pleasure. He’d start his planning right after she came on his pounding cock…</div><span style="font-family: Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif;"></span></span></div><div style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-indent: 0in;"></div><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; font-size: small;"></span>Emma Hillmanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00338107825632104021noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2701979101976149725.post-85961782252438845202011-11-07T14:52:00.000+01:002011-11-07T14:52:00.728+01:001st review for Rough It Up!<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F09LopXLjWI/TnboZRbp-NI/AAAAAAAADSQ/FqNPJahPEn0/s1600/newreview.jpg" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br />

Miz Bookworm over at <a href="http://www.mizlovelovesbooks.com/2011/11/rough-it-up-by-emma-hillman.html">Miz Love and Crew Love Books</a> penned this short but sweet review of <i>Rough It Up</i>, the first one for this book<i>:</i><br />
<br />
<i>Rough it Up lives up to the title and takes the reader through a different arena with regards to paranormal books. The chemistry is there between the two leads, and what I like is the battle of wills to fight the attraction. Alexa is not weak but a strong Alpha female who must learn to be tamed. Jay refuses to break down and the battle of wills is a wonderful change to read. </i><br />
<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><i><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">A quick paranormal with some serious sexy twists. Well worth the time to read. </span></i><br />

<div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><i>Animal Urges </i>is part of Resplendence Publishing's short stories line, Erotic Gems, so it's short and sweet. Hmm, actually no, it's not that sweet. It's very hot though! </span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><i><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">It’s the night before his wedding day and Caleb is going crazy. His animal urges are going haywire and he’s struggling not to shift into his leopard form. He’s standing in the shower in a vain effort to cool off when his fiancée, Jess, finds him. He tries to push her away but she can feel his pain through their mated link and is resolute to help him. When the urge to shift is replaced by something just as physical, only his woman will be able to save him from himself...</span></i></div><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Yes, you read that right. Leopards! (They have great physical attributes but you'll have to read it to find out what ;). </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">They'll also be featured in a ménage story which will be published by RP in May 2012, titled <i>The Prize</i>. Watch this space for more info!</span><br />
